Pirate Parade and Sounds on Centre

The Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival kicks-off with Fernandina Beach’s largest parade of the year, Thursday, at 6:00 p.m., May 2, 2019. Imagine nearly 100 parade entries including First Responders, bands, boats, live animals, Shriners, dancers, gymnists, and everyone’s favorites… the Fernandina Pirates Club, Inc. with their parade floats Amelia’s Pearl and Amelia’s Revenge as the grand finale.

The Pirate Parade will travel west on Ash Street, north on Second, then east on Atlantic until it returns to the Central Park ball fields, where line-up for the parade begins at 4:00 p.m. Most streets surrounding the ball fields will be closing at 4:00 for the safety of the parade entrants and other pedestrians in the area.

poster-decades-band-shrimp-festival-sounds-2019At about 7:30 p.m., immediately following the Pirate Parade, the Decades Band will be performing at a special Sounds on Centre concert. Yes, the concert is Thursday this month, not Friday!

The Decades Band is a premier cover band from Northeast Florida covering hits from the big band era through today!

Stick around after the parade and join your neighbors for a little dancing in the streets!!!
